SHERRI BOWMAN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

 Sherri currently serves as the Executive Director for the Charles City County Civic League, Inc. 

        I am proud to say I am a citizen of Charles City County and was born and educated here.  Upon completing my studies at VSU I returned to the county I love.  It was instilled in me by other county leaders that you never forget home and you give back. I have been a member of the Civic League since 1981 and have served on the Board of Directors for over 20 years.  I believe wholeheartedly in the objectives of the organization - education, social inclusion, equality and provisions for medical services regardless of income.  I will continue to do my part to make the quality of life better for ALL citizens in the county I love so dearly.           

For over 30 years I have strived to enhance the goals of the Civic League.  Therefore, leaving a meaningful legacy for our county.

Byron M. Adkins, Sr. is a lifelong resident of Charles City County and has been actively involved in civic affairs both locally and statewide since 1967. Byron has a forty-year career in Human Services focused on program planning, implementation, and administration.  

Byron has held various offices with the Civic League and the Board of Directives since 1974. Served on the Board of Supervisors and numerous Boards, Commissions, and non-profit, demonstrating a commitment to improving local communities.

I am excited to be a member of the Charles City Civic League.  My goal is to assist with projects and make them come alive - that's what I do with this website!!  I want to be a part of the solution, make my membership count!
